[MS28] Lê Ngọc Mỹ Anh – Censip 6AF
"MY ENGLISH CENTER"
Being the perfectionist that I am, I was determined to write a so-called ‘perfect’ passage to enter this competition. But now, all I hope is I to make this piece of writing as ‘me’ as possible. A little chill, a little fun, and a whole lot of both. This is my story.
It all began in September 2013, when I started my journey at Roadmap. I remember being the youngest in 6H and distancing myself from the whole class during the first few lessons. After a while, it was not hard to blend in at all. Since I was so talkative, I quickly became close with the other girls and some of whom I still remain friends until this day. Then, I decided to skip one semester and moved to 6A (now 6AF), which was sad because I just couldn’t get used to the feeling of studying with other people. It was quite strange at the beginning, but I soon got along really well with everybody and they are an important part of my life now. I remember the one time when we had a lesson which included listening to a horror story. We switched off the lights and sat there in the darkness with our eyes opened. To be honest, it wasn’t as scary as I thought it would be, but the experience was absolutely fun. I remember protesting before every single test, even mini-test and threatening to go home, but apparently, no one was afraid of that. I remember asking (begging) the teachers for us to play games while we should be doing our work instead. All the memories that I can never forget here at Roadmap, I will keep dearly deep down my heart to look back in another 10 years…
What impresses me the most about Roadmap is nothing but the teachers here. I don’t know about others, but I truly love and respect mine. My very first teacher was Mrs. Pham Ha, who had such an impact on me. She really strikes me as a gentle and caring person both during class hours and in life. Despite the enormous amount of homework she gives, I still love her anyway. Then we come to Ms. Diep. She is truly one of the nicest people I have ever met and gotten to know. Whenever I’m having a tough time at school, I always look forward to her lesson on Sunday because she has the amazing ability to make learning twice as fun as usual. We would normally laugh until we cry each week, and I just cannot wait until next time. I’m thankful for the moments we had together, and I will miss our little chats so much. Finally, I want to share some of my feelings for a teacher with whom I really enjoyed learning. Most of you won’t even know him since he isn’t teaching at Roadmap anymore, he is Mr. Mark. My first impression of him is that we have the same birthday, which is kind of weird since I have never met anybody with the same birthday as me (it’s 14th March by the way, and I’ll be expecting presents). I remember every lesson, he would give us songs from the ‘50s or so and make us fill in the missing lyrics for them. Well of course, if he thought they sounded good, we didn’t. Despite all the creepy songs and him writing me in the class record almost every lesson for talking so much, I still miss him though. There are a few more teachers that taught me in the course of 3.5 years but I did not mention, it’s not because I don’t like them, I’ve just ran out of energy to think. So if by any chance you are reading this, I just want to say thank you for everything. Love you lots!
Roadmap has given me the opportunities I cannot receive anywhere else. My journey here is coming to an end, but the memories will always be in my heart. It has been a great pleasure studying at Roadmap, and I’m thankful for it all. Thanks for reading!
