"THE TALE OF ROADMAP"
As a humble traveller, I wandered from town to town, hoping to find a place to develop my English skills. Not so far in the kingdom of “Thái Hà”, i came across a small village called “ROADMAP”.
I decided to take a tour, in this mystical village. Passed the gate, into the main square, i met the chiefs of ROADMAP – madam Hằng, sir Hải and lady Quế.
They showed me around and introduced to their variety of facilities.
Right next to the main square is the village’s library with novels from Charles Dickens, magical fairy tales, stories of mystery and romance. It makes a small corner of town feels so much bigger!
The chiefs even told me they had a magic floating screen to watch over the town folks! (if you know what I mean, BLINK!)
Not to mention, their lavatory is HUGE and smelled like flushed-water, which is a good thing.
Intrigued by the people and the knowledge they taught, I decided to stay.
The following day, I was enrolled in House 6G as the youngest member. Our house had 13 people, in which include
The local farmers – Hương Giang, Châu and Đức
The bakers – Hoà and Thành
The hunter Khánh and his sidekick Duy Anh
The fair maidens – San, Hà, Ngân Giang
And finally... the all-seeing fortune teller – Quỳnh
Oh and of course, me – the magical UNICORN!
With so many people from different places with different skills, I was thrilled to begin my life here at ROADMAP.
One of our counselors, sir Roman, is a Christian! He’s super kind and well-liked. Our other counselor, madam Huyền, is really lovable and ready to stuff you up with assignments and work! Beside that, everyone here is thoughtful and willing to teach you everything they know.
Here in ROADMAP, I don’t just learn new words and structures. In every new lessons, they teach us about History, Geography and different cultures through “reading portfolios”, people, places, countries, … through books and movies.
Just imagine, studying here is like a road trip in your mind, filled with amazing sights and wonders. You can almost hear the crashing of waves, whispers at a court room, or maybe even thunder at a rainy day. What other places shall I visit as another page is unfold?
I could express myself at ROADMAP, in which I was unable to in other towns.
I found it difficult and energy consuming to communicate with people.
Admitted that I was a little shy, but coming to ROADMAP that day, it was a life changing experience. I got along with each and everyone at 6G, the chiefs are friendly, caring and the counselors are really supportive.
As my travelling days are left behind, I will forever more remember the day I set foot in ROADMAP.
The end.
