[MS14] Vũ Quỳnh Chi – CENSIP 6C
I have been learning at Roadmap since semester 5. At first, I only tried learning here because my best friends were studying here (and they still are). My first impression of Roadmap is that it is not as spacious, neat, luminous and modern as other English centers, such as Yola or Summit. But now I’m fine with it, because Roadmap is a young English center, and I believe that Roadmap has great potential to develop. The staff (a.k.a the admin) is funny and friendly, but also really devoted to work. They are always there for you, giving you anything you need. The teachers here are simply awesome. Every class has two teachers: a Vietnamese teacher and a foreign one. Our Vietnamese teacher is Mrs. Huyen. She is really nice and friendly, but she is quite strict and never neglects our errors so that we can improve our English every lesson. Getting stamps from her is hard. Your team must have outstanding skills and knowledge to win and get a stamp. Our ex-foreign teacher is Mr. Adam. He is extremely hilarious and every lesson with him is a full-of-laugh one. He is also a slightly weird teacher. Mr. Adam almost always gives us creative writing tasks but not the ones in the textbooks. That’s what I like the most about him. Because they are creative, I can truly show myself in the work without being limited in the “format” of textbooks’ tasks. Our current foreign teacher is Mr. Roman. He is not as funny as Mr. Adam, but he is also a conscientious teacher and he always finds games and quizzes to make the lessons exciting. There is one thing I dislike about them is that they never give out stamps. Never. The educational curriculum at Roadmap is wonderful. The books are from well-known publishing company and the handouts are challenging enough to improve your skills. Every week there are portfolios and mini-test to check your progress. Many people find this annoying but it creates a competitive environment where students can come in contact with each other and polish competence. At Roadmap, I’m able to meet new friends from many schools in Hanoi (But half of them have quitted or changed class, so we only have 7 students here). Apart from studying, Roadmap has many interesting activities such as Speaking Contest, Roadmap’s got talents… Another thing I like about Roadmap which not many students think about is that Roadmap’s tuition fee is reasonable. Since I started learning at Roadmap, my skills have improved a lot, especially Writing and Listening. As you can see, I’m very happy here at Roadmap and I’m proud to say that Roadmap is my English centre.
